Request

Returns Esper's MDM service configuration for Apple device discovery.

This is an unauthenticated discovery endpoint implemented per Apple's MDMServiceConfig specification; it returns the URL a device uses to begin Automated Device Enrollment (ADE).

About MDM Service Config

Apple devices use this well-known, unauthenticated endpoint during Automated Device Enrollment to discover which MDM server (Esper, in this case) to enroll with, per Apple's published device management service spec. Because it's a discovery step that happens before a device has any credentials, it intentionally requires no authentication.

Common Use Cases

  • Supporting Apple's Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) flow so devices can discover Esper's MDM enrollment URL
  • Verifying Esper's MDM discovery response matches Apple's expected MDMServiceConfig format during ADE setup or troubleshooting Unauthenticated discovery endpoint per Apple's MDMServiceConfig spec. Returns the URL a device uses to begin Automated Device Enrollment.
